About the Role:

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Junior SBA Portfolio Assistant to support the Servicing team in managing SBA 7(a), SBA SLA, SBA Express, and SBA 504 loan portfolios. This role plays a critical part in ensuring compliance, maintaining loan documentation, and assisting Portfolio Analysts with servicing and liquidation processes.

Responsibilities

What you'll do:

  • Conduct post-closing reviews on SBA loan files and ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
  • Process servicing actions following SBA Servicing and Liquidation procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain SBA loan portfolios, tracking financials and compliance requirements.
  • Assist with annual loan reviews to ensure adherence to SBA and internal credit guidelines.
  • Support collection efforts by reviewing insurance, real estate taxes, payoffs, and collateral releases.
  • Respond to borrower inquiries regarding loan releases, subordinations, and payoff demands.
  • Track and manage past-due and maturing loans, preparing necessary documentation and notifications.
  • Prepare and document deferment requests for approval.
  • Maintain accurate borrower correspondence logs and loan records.
  • Work closely with the Portfolio Manager to generate reports for senior management.
Qualifications

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance (preferred).
  • 1+ years of experience in commercial/SBA lending.
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
